Pet Portraits in Watercolor
In this class, participants will practice watercolor while painting the portrait of a beloved pet. Bring a photo of the pet you would like to celebrate, and receive instruction from an artist who has painted many commissioned pet portraits in watercolor. Instructor Hannah Day will share her insights and her approach to rendering animals in this medium, walking you through a layering process that yields a portrait with vibrancy, detail, and depth. Painting animals is a great way to build familiarity with watercolor for beginners, or to further develop your skills if you have experience with the medium. Pet portraits make great gifts for the holiday season - come enjoy an evening of painting and walk away with a gift for a loved one (or yourself).
